Patent and Staff Safety Reviews

BHFC staff visits existing provider’s facilities as part of their continuing improvement process to make suggestions of changes that could be considered to improve patient and staff safety and improving the therapeutic environment of each facility.  A comprehensive report is compiled detailing the findings and suggesting solutions to the identified issues including suggestions of specific products to be used and contact information for use in obtaining them.  The Patient Safety Risk Assessment Matrix is utilized in discussions with the users to determine the level of risk in each location to inform the suggested solutions.

BHFC staff participate in the planning, design and construction of remodeling and new construction projects to make suggestions to assist the design team and Owner with creating the best possible therapeutic environment and the safest possible facility for the patients and staff that will be occupying the space for many years to come.

Peer Reviews of Documents

BHFC staff provide reviews of documents prepared by others for consistency with leading practice of the built environments of behavioral health treatment spaces.

BHFC staff assist attorneys with understanding the details of the built environment and its role in providing a safe environment for patients and staff.
